TUCSON, Ariz. - The Tucson.com website reports that construction has begun on the latest expansion of the popular Casino Del Sol casino complex. The project includes a new 90-site RV park, which will give RVers the opportunity to hook up and enjoy Casino Del Sol’s many amenities. Also included in the project is a new 151-room hotel with a pool, water slide and pool bar, arcade, lounge and fitness center, plus a new 11,000-square-foot event center at sister property, Casino of the Sun. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
The Casino Del Sol resort, operated by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, opened in 2011 with 215 hotel rooms, and has been averaging occupancy rates above 90 percent. “The astounding support we have received from the community and our guests has led to us evolve the Casino Del Sol brand to include these additional amenities for families and RVers,” CEO of Casino Del Sol, Kimberly Van Amburg, told Tucson.com. “This project will allow us to meet the increased demand of our customers and to better serve our professional meetings and conventions clientele.”
