Winnebago has united all its travel trailers and fifth wheels under the “Minnie” name forming the “Minnie Family.” These include the Minnie, the Micro Minnie, the Minnie Drop, the Minnie Plus Fifth Wheel and the Minnie Plus Travel Trailer. A standardized construction process on all Minnie branded products includes 5/8-inch tongue and groove plywood flooring, Noble Classic gel coat fiberglass sidewalls, and a high strength low alloy prime steel NXG frame. The purchasing process for customers has been simplified with two interior décor options, eight exterior colors, and upgraded standard features throughout.
The company’s new emphasis on towables has been a profitable one, with revenues from the segment at $266.4 million for the quarter ending February 24, 2018, up 55.2% over the prior year. Winnebago is so far the fastest growing manufacturer of trailers in 2018. Towables provide a higher profit margin than motorized units, and have led Winnebago’s $468.4 million in revenues for the Fiscal 2018 second quarter, up 26.4% compared to $370.5 million for the same Fiscal 2017 period.
