JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (PRNewswire) - The Wounded Warrior Project reports that a recent event for wounded veterans at Stoney Creek Resort & Campground in Greenville, Virginia went exceptionally well. Attendees at Freedom Fest, a weekend of events supporting Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), raised more than $67,000 recently for injured veterans and their families.According to a press release, "When Joe Murray, Dan Murray, and Gloria Shepherd invested in buying a campground in rural Virginia in 2006, they never could've envisioned the response they'd get from an event they'd host there." In its fourth year, the Freedom Fest has grown to welcome more than 4,000 participants who share Joe, Dan, and Gloria's passion for honoring our nation's military. All of the donations from the event support wounded veterans and their families. Warriors never pay a penny for WWP programs and services because they paid their dues on the battlefield. It's a sentiment that resonates with Joe through Freedom Fest.
