ELKHART, Ind. - After introducing the concept at RVX, Thor Motor Coach will deliver the first of its Sequence Class B vans to dealers in late July. The new Class C is a departure for Thor which has previously only released Class A and Class C coaches. Built on the fuel-efficient RAM Promaster 3500 window van chassis, the Sequence looks to European campers vans for inspiration, thanks perhaps to last year’s purchase by Thor of Erwin Hymer, Europe's leader in the field, and is designed to appeal specifically to adventure-seeking millennials.
The 20-foot, 11-inch camper van is innovative and tech savvy, with standard equipment that includes a 190-watt solar panel charging system, Winegard ConnecT 2.0 4G/WiFi system, 7-inch touchscreen dash SiriusXM radio with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto enabled, 24-inch flat screen TV, back-up monitor and the Rapid Camp+ multiplex wiring platform to make setting up camp easy. The interior takes its key from European design, with Italian wood cabinets, a dinette that converts to beds incorporating the Froli sleep cooling system and adjustable headrests, a wet bath, front swivel seats, a full kitchen, and the innovative Truma Combi Eco water heater/furnace. Outside accessories, aimed at adventure lovers, include an awning and a full complement of Thule carriers, including a ladder, both a roof rack and bike rack, as well as a trailer hitch rated for 3,500 lbs. Manufacturer’s suggested price for the 20L is $91,875.
