Shady Oaks Campground & RV Park in Arkansas recently got new owners, Robert and Melissa Ginn, and hosted a ribbon cutting with the Harrison Chamber of Commerce earlier this month. Full-service cabins and camping cabins are available in the Arkansas camping grounds. Full service (50/30 amp), as well as partial and primitive sites accommodating the smallest to the largest group will also be offered to guests. New additions include a recreation pavilion with board games, TV, movies, ping pong, shuffleboard, pool table and fooseball, as well as a playground, basketball court and horseshoes.
According to Donna Braymer's interview with the new owners on Harrison Daily Times, Melissa stated: “We had been in Colorado for more than 30 years and owned property at Cripple Creek and a home by Castle Rock. But when we drove in to Shady Oaks we both said, ‘This is it.’” And indeed it was. The couple loved the premises and wanted to make it theirs. Trees were professionally trimmed so even the larger RVs can get in and enjoy the camping experience, reported Melissa. “We are not afraid of hard work, that’s for sure and we are very excited to get the word out about this place. It’s so beautiful.” The Ginns say that they don’t want to ever stop making improvements. They hope to add a gazebo and splash pad for kids. Campers can come into Shady Oaks campground with full-size RVs, or just walk in with a back pack.
