Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge In California Is Looking To Recruit RVers Who Can Volunteer
The Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge is always in need of extra hands to help out. While the Retired Senior Volunteer Program has been successfully recruiting volunteers, there is another set of hands that could deem useful; RVers. They are looking for RVers to come volunteer for two months in exchange for a free place to stay.
“This is a great place for retired teachers to volunteer. Every day is a learning experience,” said Seeger. “To work here, volunteers need to have good people skills to help deal with all the different personalities that visit. Being flexible is important. Usually when people come here, they are not in a hurry. You can relax. Potential volunteers don’t need to worry about being ‘qualified.’ That’s the best part of it, you can learn as you go. We provide training and resources, you provide your time and energy.”
