German Ambassador Matthias Meyer Plans A 10,000 km, Two Month Adventure Through Eight Countries For His Longest Trek Yet
German Ambassador to Nepal, Matthias Meyer, holds a passion for adventure travel. He soon will embark on a two month journey driving and trekking through eight countries. Starting in India, his route follows to Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, and stopping in Hamburg. Meyer enjoys Nepal as well and before he was re-stationed in Kathmandu, he would trek the mountains there.
Nepali Times relates in their article: "After ending his 37-year long diplomatic career and a three-year tenure in Kathmandu, Meyer is being flagged off from the embassy in his Mitsubishi SUV and will have a first night stop in Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha near the Indian border." Meyer will also travel through the ancient Silk route in China. He will miss Nepal very much, but the experience he will take on is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
