People Reports On Jimmy Funkhouser Who Thought He Was Living The American Dream Working In The Corporate World
Founder of Feral Mountain Co. outdoor shop, Jim Funkhouser, talks about leaving the corporate world after 10 years of working at Toys-R-Us. He always thought he had the American dream, until he started working on his own passion. Funkhouser even appeared on PEOPLE's American Doers series.
As People writer Marlene Lenthang quotes in her article: “One of my buddies who knows that I don’t like resolutions asked, ‘What do you want to do this year?’ ” shares Funkhouser. “I thought about it and the very first thought that entered my mind was, if I could do anything this year, I just want to live a year without fear. “The very next thought that entered my mind was I would leave my job immediately.”
