Dog owners, Alton and Amanda Temple, were taking a stroll along the Potomac River when their dog, Roxy, jumped in. The dog was quickly swept away by the river and disappeared. They spent hours along with Washington County Emergency Services looking for Roxy. It turned out, Roxy made her way out at the West Virginia side of the river.
As Herald Mail Media writer Mike Lewis relates in his article: "A guy who who works at the water treatment plant off (U.S.) Route 11 found her," Amanda Temple said. Amanda spent time Saturday afternoon posting to Facebook lost-and-found sites, letting people know the pet was missing. And the person who found Roxy also went to social media to say she had been found. "Someone who had read my post read his post" and put the two together, Amanda said.
