THE FORKS, Winnipeg – A new self-guided audio tour gives guests a way to discover the history, landmarks, and some fun facts about this culturally rich and historic area. Narrated by Curator of Indigenous History at The Forks and Professor of Native Studies at the University of Manitoba, Niigaan Sinclair, The Forks: A self-guided audio tour is an immersive and engaging journey designed for all.
According to a press release, The tour starts at the Canopy, and takes listeners to the foot bridge featuring Mike Valcourt’s larger-than-life mural, across the river from the Saint Boniface Cathedral and catch a glimpse of the Esplanade Riel and Canadian Museum for Human Rights, passes the Plaza Skate Park, and ends with an amazing view of the city. The tour is approximately 50 minutes, but listeners can hit pause at any point for more time to take in their surroundings. “I’m proud to be the voice guiding visitors through over 6,000 years of history all in under an hour,” says Sinclair.
