Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has long been an advocate for the benefits of cannabis for pain, both physical and mental. Now he’s taken his belief a step forward, establishing the Tyson Ranch in the desert 110 miles north of Los Angeles on a 40-acre plot of land in California City, near Desert Hot Springs. Tyson and his business partners broke ground about a year ago, and are currently cultivating high grade cannabis and producing various cannabis products, including Cannabidiol (CBD) and edibles. On Feb. 23, 2019, the Ranch will host its first public event, the one-day Kind Music Festival.
As widely reported in national media, the Tyson Ranch dedicates 20 acres of land for cannabis cultivation under the direction of master growers. Plans for the resort include the Tyson Cultivation School to teach growers ways to perfect their own strains, a hydro-feed plant and supply store, extraction facility and edibles factory. Another section of the resort will include “glamping” cabins and a campground, adjacent to an amphitheater.
