Bubble Doubles As Deluxe Tent At Texas Glamping Destination

Rare Life publication reports on a Texas glamping destination near Big Bend National Park where guests can literally sleep in a bubble. The one-of-a-kind lodgings at Basecamp Terlingua were designed by innovative French company BubbleTree. The company produces completely clear bubble rooms in addition to the modular bubble tents used at Terlingua. Found throughout Europe and gaining acceptance around the world, these are the first BubbleTree accommodations in the United States.
The modular design pairs a transparent roof for star-gazing with translucent walls for privacy. The inside of the 225-square-foot inflated sphere houses a queen-sized bed, full bathroom, coffee station, mini-fridge and indoor seating area. An outdoor shower and seating area around a fire pit are just outside. Since opening in December, Terlingua’s bubble tents have proved tremendously popular and are currently booked for weekends through May. The glamping destination also offers accommodations in tipis, adobe casitas, lotus tents and rooms in the (reportedly haunted) Terlingua Ghost Town. For additional information, visit the Basecamp Terlingua website.
