Free Admission To All May 6 At Indiana State Parks

As a part of Visit Indiana Week, Indiana State Parks is offering free admission for everyone on Sunday, May 6, 2018, sponsored by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. State Parks Sunday is also the last day of "Let’s Camp America! Weekend", a nationwide initiative of the National Association of State Parks Directors. Sunday will kick off a week of discounts around the Hoosier State on May 6 with free admission to 51 Indiana DNR properties.
According to the news release by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development, the properties offering free admission include all State Parks, State Forest Recreation Areas, and State ORV (off-road vehicle) Riding Areas owned and managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Those properties offer a combined 7,700 campsites and more than 150 cabins, and more than 700 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. Let’s Camp America! Weekend is a chance for beginners to learn basic camping skills, and for experienced campers to get their equipment out for a spring weekend. Activities will take place at all 32 Indiana State Parks properties, such as Lincoln State Park, Indiana Dunes State Park and Turkey Run State Park, as well as on social media. The weekend celebrates all forms of camping, including tents, trailers, cabins, and recreational vehicle camping in RV parks in Indiana.
