Travis County commissioners approve platting exception for proposed RV park on Stagecoach Ranch Road, half a mile away from Hamilton Pool Preserve. The RV resort would be named Bentree RV Resort and would include 80 pad sites for recreational vehicles and a permanent office structure with a pool. Dozens of residents met to speak out against the project, citing concern about groundwater supply, septic drainage, environmental impact and evacuation routes.Emma Freer of Community Impact relays in her article, "However, after a proposal for an RV park on Fitzhugh Road prompted a similar backlash, the county implemented a procedural change in which RV parks are now considered a special type of subdivision, similar to condominiums, and require commissioner approval to obtain a development permit." What has caused confusion among county residents is the fact that county regulations for subdivisions were not written with RV parks in mind. County Judge Sarah Eckhardt tried to address confusion among residents while also stressing the county’s prior work to suppress development along Hamilton Pool Road.
