UNITED KINGDOM - The Caravan and Motorhome Club of Great Britain announced the winners of its Certificated Location (CL) of the Year Awards for 2018. Limited to campgrounds with five or fewer sites (pitches), the awards are voted for by Club members and recognize the very best sites and their hard-working owners. Certificated Locations are privately-owned and are open exclusively to Caravan and Motorhome Club members. Many are found in remote locations such as farms, country estates and next to inns.
Top award in the 2018 voting went to Avon Bank Meadow, a year-round spot on the banks of the Avon River in Worcestershire, with easy access to Stratford-upon-Avon and other iconic sights. Runners up this year are Poole Farm in North Cornwall near Tintagel Castle, the Eden Project and Launceston Steam Railway, and Keal Lodge, an adults-only site in Lincolnshire. This year, the Club also introduced the Best Newcomer CL Award recognizing a CL that joined in the past year. This year’s winner, dog-friendly Rodgebrook Farm, is located on the Isle of Wight and offers discounted ferry fares. Another award for Most Inspiring CL Photograph went to Woody Kiln Farm in Pembrokeshire National Park for a stunning photo of Lindsway Bay beach, a short hike away.
