The BC Local News site, a news outlet in British Columbia, Canada, reports Woody’s RV World has received the go-ahead from the Abbotsford council to relocate from its current location to a new site just west of the Clearbrook Road roundabout. Woody’s plans on building a large dealership on the property, which has room to park dozens of vehicles. Founded in 1986, Woody’s RV World currently has five locations in Alberta, Canada, as well as its location at Abbotsford in British Columbia. The chain’s found, Woody Paylor, was the first Canadian to be inducted into the RV Hall of Fame.
The Abbotsford council voted unanimously in favor of rezoning the property following a public hearing at which no objections were raised. However, the plan to add a median to deter left-turns out of one of the dealership’s driveways drew comment from one nearby business owner who believes it may create new problems. He said that trucks traveling too fast down the hill might need to avoid RVs pulling out from the property. The ultimate solution, a traffic light at the intersection Foy and Marshall roads, is awaiting funding. Rob Isaac, head of the city’s engineering department, said the city is waiting to put in the planned light until contributions come in from the development of one of the surrounding properties.
