Black Book reports on RV auction volume being up across the board as dealers have begun to stock up for camping season. Specifically, up by 28% for motorized RVs and up 24% for towables. The average age of all units was 8-and-a-half years old.
As quoted in an article on RVBusiness, “Even though many areas of the country have been on the receiving end of a few bad late winter snowstorms recently, spring really is right around the corner, and shoppers will soon be heading into the dealerships,” said Black Book’s Eric Lawrence. Motorized values dropped a bit at auction last month, but towables of all types have looked strong for several months. Taking a closer look at the markets, the average selling price for motorized units was $40,158 (down $3,277 or 7.5%) from the previous month. Towables came in at $13,035 (up $163 or 1.2%) from last month. One year ago the average motorhome sold for $45,705 and the average towable unit brought $13,301.
