OIA Director Amy Roberts Moves To The North Face

BOULDER, Colo. – The Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) announced that Executive Director Amy Roberts is resigning her post at the outdoor industry’s leading trade association to accept a position as senior director of communications and corporate social responsibility at The North Face. Roberts will stay on at OIA through the end of September while the OIA Board of Directors searches for a new executive director with the aid of an executive search firm.
Roberts helmed the OIA for four years, through the organization’s “difficult trade show move” to Denver, as well as the successful #VoteTheOutdoors social media campaign and the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis’ recognition of the outdoor recreation’s economic impact. “I am grateful for the opportunity that I have had to serve the outdoor industry and to be a part of the wins that the OIA team has achieved, including securing more funding for parks and trails, establishing state offices of outdoor recreation, building tools to help our members drive sustainability in their own businesses and launching our revised Thrive Outside participation strategy,” Roberts said in a press release.
