The Atlantic Reports On The Correlation Between RV Sales And The American Economy By Assessing Consumer Moods And Purchasing Behaviors
Throughout the years, economists have assessed the economy's health by looking at consumers purchasing behaviors and moods. It has recently been discovered, that RV sales can be an accurate prediction to how the economy is doing. When RV sales increase, the economy follows, and when RV sales fall, so does the economy short after.
As The Atlantic writer Alana Semuels relates in her article: It makes sense that the RV industry is an accurate forecaster of the economy. People buy RVs when they have some extra money to spare. They also buy RVs when they feel financially secure enough to go on a long trip. Some Americans choose to spend their leisure time in RVs, and when Americans feel free enough to go on vacations and use their time to relax, and not work, it usually means the economy is ticking up.
