South Bend Tribune's Ted Booker Reports On RV/MH Hall Of Fame Revival & Resurgence Including New Construction Proposal
The resurgence of the RV industry, especially in Elkhart, Indiana has fueled everything from the evolution of technology to the 2012 US Presidential Race. In coming full circle, a complex that only a few years ago was on the brink of being sold off has become a viable moneymaker with extensive plans for expansion.
Ted Booker of the South Bend Tribune reports in his article: In early 2012, the RV/MH Hall of Fame was on the brink of financial collapse. Fortunately, that bailout plan was avoided after the hall crafted a strategy to pay off debt owed to families who helped cover the construction of the $8 million Elkhart complex. Their new proposal calls for a 60,000-square-foot event center, a 15,000-square-foot pavilion and an outdoor rally site with room for several hundred RVs. Darryl Searer, president of the hall, hopes the hall will raise enough funding to break ground on the project in about two years, finishing it by 2020.
