West Virginia State Parks announced the release of a new craft beer at Pipestem Resort State Park’s Mountain Creek Lodge. The seasonal Sambrinus Black Wit will join Devil Anse IPA, Zona’s Revenge Witbier and Ole Ran’l Pilsner, all from the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company, on the resort’s restaurant menus this summer. Greenbrier, which operates a taproom in Maxwelton, WV, sources its ingredients locally and adheres to its motto: “Get Out. Explore. Bring Beer.”
Pipestem Resort State Park sits on the east rim of the Bluestone River Gorge. In addition to cabins and an 82-site campground, the resort contains two lodges with accommodations and restaurants. The seasonal Mountain Creek Lodge can only be reached by riding the park’s aerial tramway 3,600 feet down to the bottom of the gorge. Other activities at the park include ziplines, trout fishing, mountain biking and rock climbing, as well as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, tubing and whitewater rafting on the Bluestone River.
