TULSA, Okla. - KTUL and other Oklahoma news sources report that the new Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Keystone Lake has closed for the 2019 season due to historic flooding. The resort, located 18 miles west of Tulsa, sits next to a 25,000-acre man-made lake on more than 200 acres of open and wooded land leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The water level in Keystone Lake has been high since May, hitting 34 feet above normal, the highest ever recorded. The campground area and other parts of the park remain flooded.
The new Jellystone and its waterpark was open for its first full season last summer, after experiencing delays caused by flooding in 2015 and 2017. The multi-million dollar project included installation of twin 40-ft. waterslides, a large Wibit floating water playground, upgraded and enlarged RV sites, cabins, floating docks, kayak and paddle boat rentals, two pools and a renovated swimming beach. The waterpark would normally have been open for campers and day use visitors through Labor Day.
