TORONTO, Ontario â The Global News reports that the first season of the Camp-Easy program has been a success, and Saskatchewan provincial parks may expand the program next year. The pilot program provides fully equipped campsites, ready to use, for inexperienced or casual campers at three parks in the province, Pike Lake, Buffalo Pound and Echo Valley. Each site includes a tent on a wood platform that is equipped with beds that sleep six, as well as a screened dining tent, stove and propane tank, lanterns, camping chairs, an axe and other camping necessities. An optional Learn to Camp program offered by park guides teaches beginner campers skills such as how to chop wood and start a fire.
The parks will continue to book the Camp-Easy tents through their September closing dates. Rates are $65 a night for a maximum stay of two weeks. For more information on the parks or to book a stay, visit the SaskParks website.
