Colorado news outlet, the Greeley Tribune, reports that the Platte River Fort, a local resort and event center, is adding camping to their offerings this summer. Located on the South Platte River, the resort will host RV and tent camping, and rent yurts along the riverbank. More traditional rooms are available in the lodge, a replica of the 1834 Bent's Fort in La Junta, Colorado.
Also new at the Fort, Hank’s Bar and Grill serves barbecue, burgers and bison brats. Guests at the resort, as well as day visitors, can choose from a number of activities to work up an appetite, including river tubing, hayrides that feature the Fort’s longhorn cattle herd, and archery, all with modest fees. Free activities include hiking and biking trails, self-guided tours of conservation areas, and much more.
