Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, the self-proclaimed “Roller Coaster Capital of the World,” expands its camping accommodations in 2018 with the addition of 25 new Ultimate RV sites to its Lighthouse Point campground. In addition to full hookups, each new site has a private, stone-paved patio area, dining table with chairs, built-in charcoal grill and wood-burning fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. Four of the new sites include a glider swing with views of Lake Erie. A new restroom facility and bathhouse are part of the expansion.
The new sites are located on the former Sandcastle Suites site on the shores of Lake Erie, a short walk from the themepark itself. Other accommodations at Lighthouse Point include standard full hookup sites, as well as waterfront cottages, inland cabins and ten-person deluxe cabins. All overnight guests enjoy discounted ticket prices and early entry to Cedar Point. With 71 rides, including 18 roller coasters, live shows, a mile-long beach, restaurants and more, Cedar Point is numbered among the world's top destinations for thrill-seekers. New for 2018, the park introduces the world-record-breaking Steel Vengeance – the first and only 205-foot-tall hyper-hybrid roller coaster on Earth.
