Adventure therapy is becoming known as one of the best ways to combat depression. There is evidence that proves the positive effects of outdoor adventures on the moods and behaviors of patients that deal with this very known and common mental health issue.

As Bio Med Central writer Dr. Zainab Samaan relates in her article: "A growing amount of evidence shows that recreational activities can help depression, such as adventure based therapy, where people are engaged with others, problem solving in the outdoors and developing social and physical skills. However, this type of therapy is rarely seen as a main method of treatment in clinics and hospitals."
