The Hoopeston (IL) Chronicle reports that Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Hoopeston will end its partnership with Chrysler and focus on RV sales. Owner Jen Shelby told the Chronicle that the Chrysler signs will come down Nov. 12, and the dealership will be renamed Get Out and Go RV.  Shelby said her dealership already offers the Little Guy Max and Mini Max teardrop trailers, as well as the MyPod fiberglass towable, and she is looking at several other lines of campers to offer in the future.

Shelby pointed to the difficulty of finding qualified Chrysler-certified technicians to meet all the requirements of Chrysler warranties on vehicles as a major factor in her decision. She is also part-owner of nearby Crown Ford which, she said, benefits from the Ford Asset program, but that Chrysler has no similar training.

“The plan is to really beef up the camper side of things and train techs for RV service and bring in accessories, parts, everything that goes with having the campers here and work that side of things,” Shelby told the Chronicle.
