One might remember last years gaming fad, Pokemon Go. Not only was it a hit in the United States, but it became popular around the world. Everyone from children to adults found themselves playing the virtual reality game. Although there are ethical reasons pointing against the game, it did have its positives. One of the most important being that it took the younger generation outdoors. Something that most parents can't seem to achieve on their own.

As Crosscut writer Praphanit Doowa relates in her article: “We found a multi-generational appeal to Pokemon Go that definitely emerged when we talked to these families,” said Information School associate professor Jin Ha Lee. What researchers also discovered is how Pokemon Go might alleviate parents’ worry about too much screen time. “Parents worry about screen media experiences displacing physical activity and time outdoors. But Pokemon Go specifically facilitates outdoor activity,” Yip said.
