Texas native, Mack McGowen, has been living on a deserted island while sharing all his adventures and experiences with the world via Facebook's live stream.  The 30- year-old is now living on Newfoundland's Brunette Island in Canada. On his daily show, he shows his tribulations and struggles as well as the beauty of nature.

As My San Antonio writer Madalyn Mendoza relates in her article: "There is no noise here, no constant distraction, just the wind, waves and the beating of my own heart. That emptiness engulfs me, sharpening my vision on the essentials — not food, shelter or fire — but rather on faith and family," McGowen said.
