Mecum Auctions will offer the F-750 World Cruiser, described as the ultimate recreational vehicle and heavy duty hauler, at an upcoming auction, scheduled for Aug. 15-17, 2019. The one-of-a-kind vehicle was designed and built by Peter Dunkel, owner of Dunkel Bros. Machinery Moving of Alameda, California, a company that specializes in high-end truck conversions and heavy-duty hauling, including payloads as bulky as the Endeavor space shuttle.

Built on a Ford F-Series truck widened by 22 inches, the World Cruiser can tote up to 8,000 pounds in the cargo bed and tow loads of more than four tons. Powered by a 6.7-litre Cummins turbo-diesel engine, producing 385 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of max torque, the massive vehicle boasts dual 30-gallon fuel tanks, 22-inch wheels, a suspension lift kit and a floating cab and cabin and cruises at 70 mph. The on-board living area includes roomy sleeping quarters, a full service bathroom with shower, a complete kitchen with stove top and sink, and a living room with couch, flat screen TV and Kenwood Supreme Entertainment sound system. Despite all the extras, the World Cruiser weighs less than half of a conventional motorhome.

Dunkel sunk $6 million into construction of the World Cruiser, but isn’t expecting a profit from its sale. Mecum Auctions is listing it at $450,000-$650,000. For additional information and photos, visit the Mecum website.
