Lake Guntersville is Alabama’s largest lake spanning 75 miles and 69,000 acres. There are unlimited options when it comes to enjoying and basking in the beauty of Lake Guntersville. We encourage visitors to experience our lake your way! Known for its breathtaking scenery and easy access, there’s only one spot you come to do some serious fishing – and that’s Lake Guntersville. Our lake is regularly ranked by national publications and anglers as a bucket list lake. While 8 and 9 pound bass are not out of the ordinary for pros and amateurs alike – a variety of other fish including bream, crappie and catfish can also be found in Guntersville’s water.

Just looking for a little peace and quiet? We have exactly what you need on Lake Guntersville. Many visitors and locals enjoy renting a pontoon, exploring the lake and taking in all the sights around the area. You could opt for sailing or rowing with boat ramp access or reaching out to our many marinas in Marshall County. Whatever your boating pleasure, we have it on Lake Guntersville.

HYDROFEST! -Alabama is known for fast cars and famous race tracks. What about fast boats and famous water? Lake Guntersville invites you to an extreme summer event where you can watch the fastest boats today, race four and five wide on an oval course at speeds of 200 mph. Two days of competitive racing as drivers volley to take home the APBA Gold Cup title for the first time ever in Alabama. This tradition dates back to the 1940s and is definitely one for your bucket list.

The Town Creek Fishing Center is lakeside, near the mouth of Town Creek, on Alabama Highway 227. Ethanol-free gas is available at the dock of the store, and is accessible by water. The Fishing Center has an assortment of artificial and live fishing baits, fishing license, drinks, snacks, ice, and camping supplies available for purchase. Among the great deals are the many boats that are available for rent. Flat bottom boats, canoes, pontoons, and bass boats are offered with several different options to choose from. Reservations are not accepted for camping at Town Creek; primitive and boondock camping is available on a first come, first served basis. Campers must register at Town Creek Fishing Center during business hours or at the Campground Store in the park. 

We will be open for boat rentals all winter long. However, the store will operate with limited hours. Boat rentals can be made by calling and leaving a message or emailing Jason Tucker.

BOAT LAUNCH (1.2 Miles) The closest launch to our property is at the end of Meltonsville Rd, the first road to the right when you leave our property.

BUCKS POCKET (13) MILES- is 2,000-acres of secluded land tucked into a natural pocket of the Appalachian Mountains in northeast Alabama and features a campground, a new ORV trail and some of the best whitewater around. Kayakers and adventure enthusiasts come for the challenges offered both on land and water. The breathtaking views from the scenic overlook provide the perfect selfie spot.

GUNERSVILLE STATE PARK (7) MILES-Among the many recreational offerings are an 18-hole championship golf course, the Screaming Eagle Zipline, a beach complex, an outdoor nature center, excellent fishing in Alabama's largest lake, 36 miles of hiking and biking trails, weekly guided hikes, and a day-use area. Lake Guntersville State Park’s Eagle Awareness Program is an annual favorite in January and February.

Ziplining (7 Miles)- At Screaming Eagle at Lake Guntersville explore the wilderness from the bald eagle’s perspective, high in the tops of the trees atop Taylor Mountain. You won’t be able to contain your spirit of adventure after you have completed this course!

HORSEBACK RIDING (4.5 Miles)-When you trail ride with Alabama Horseback Adventures, LLC, know that you will be in capable hands as you see Lake Guntersville State Park, mountains, valleys, creeks, old homesteads, and lake views like never before. You will be expertly paired with a gentle horse or mule that will allow you to experience this beautiful part of our State Park at a pace that will let you "Breathe In" the scenery.

Golfing (7 MILES) -Grab your clubs and swing away at North Alabama’s award-winning golf courses. Fast fairways, smooth greens, and white sand make any golf outing a hole in one experience. North Alabama is home to three of the world-renowned Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses. 

HIGH FALLS PARK (14.1 MILES)-A marvel of nature hidden in the mountains of northeast Alabama, the park offers walking bridge, hiking trails, pavilions, restrooms, and rustic playground.

Cathedral Caverns (46 MILES) makes a lasting impression as you enter the 126-foot wide, 25-foot-high entrance and descend into the natural cave. Experience the beauty of stalagmite formations, a frozen waterfall and the peaceful sounds of Mystery River. Guided tours are wheelchair accessible and are offered daily.

Noccalula Falls Park (46 MILES) features a 90-foot waterfall, 15 Miles of hiking, biking, & running trails, train ride, petting zoo, botanical garden, pioneer village, and mini-golf course. We also have a children's playground and a war memorial. Come explore our trails and hike behind the waterfall.

Jules J. Berta Vineyards (21 MILES) - We are a winery where Old World meets the Heart of Dixie and we are all about Southern hospitality! The tasting room serves award-winning wines grown from grapes in our vineyards such as Syrah and Red Chardonnay, sweet muscadine wines, and locally sourced sweet fruit wines. Alfresco dining is the perfect way to try our wood-fired pizza oven, charcuterie board, and wine slushies! Gift shop, wine supplies, tastings. Call for hours.

DESOTO STATE PARK (42 MILES)-DeSoto State Park is a public recreation area located on Lookout Mountain 8 miles northeast of Fort Payne, Alabama. The state park covers 3,502 acres of forest, rivers, waterfalls, and mountain terrain. It borders the Little River, which flows into the nearby Little River Canyon National Preserve. The 104-foot-tall DeSoto Falls, the state's highest waterfall, is found in a separate part of the park 6 miles north of the main park.

LITTLE RIVER CANYON (43 MILES)- Located on the boundary of DeKalb and Cherokee Counties, in the rugged yet verdant landscape of northeast Alabama, Little River Canyon National Preserve (the preserve) was established in 1992 by Public Law 102-427 to protect the landscapes of the Little River Canyon. The authorized boundary of the preserve currently contains 15,288 acres, 11,042 acres of which are federally owned and managed. Protected within the preserve boundary are the spectacular Little River Canyon, the pristine Little River, and a number of rare and threatened plant and animal species. Together with the adjacent Desoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve provides abundant scenic views and varied recreational opportunities for locals and visitors alike. The preserve offers a diverse range of recreational opportunities, including swimming, fishing, climbing, and world-class whitewater paddling, with the latter reaching peak season in winter and spring. Canyon Rim Drive (Alabama State Road 176) hugs the west rim of Little River Canyon, offering scenic drives and connecting a series of overlooks that offer views into the canyon, and Cherokee County Road 275 continues along the west rim down to the canyon mouth. Hunting and trapping are permitted by legislation within the preserve, and these activities are managed by the National Park Service in cooperation with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

GRACES HIGH FALLS (43 MILES) -Grace's High falls is 133 foot seasonal waterfall that cascades off the cliffs. The falls do not usually flow in the summer. The waterfall is located on the opposite side of the canyon from where you drive. This tranquil setting is a great place to sit and relax and reflect on your day.

SAND MOUNTAIN AMPITHEATER 18 MILES-  offers the perfect break from the lake. Cruise down the lazy river or plunge into the pool from two waterslides. Play a game or two. Catch a concert. This 130-acre park offers a little something for every member of the family.
