La Junta KOA

Straddling the Santa Fe Trail, this High Plains campground lies minutes from Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site. Costumed interpreters welcome you to the reconstructed adobe-walled trading post. In La Junta, the Koshare Indian Museum houses an impressive collection of Native American art/artifacts. A half hour south, Picketwire Canyon features the largest known trackway of dinosaur footprints in North America. Back at the La Junta KOA, enjoy the country setting within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. At the campground store, pick up souvenirs or stop by for a snack. Cool off in the pool or relax in the rec room, where you can read, watch TV or play pool, cards and games. Take advantage of the air-conditioned laundry room and restrooms. Groups enjoy the large meeting room and use of the full kitchen.
