Mar 31 , 2019"First international camping trip and it was amazing!"
Camper?s Cove customer service is amazing! I e-mailed to make my reservation for fear of international calling charges. Camper?s Cove employee asked for contact number and best time to call. The gentleman I spoke to I figured owned the place, he spoke to me with such courtesy and respect! Upon checking in, a couple months later, I spoke to him face-to-face and posed tbe question of, ?do you own this place.? Much to my suprise, he replied he just works there. Blew my mind because he had so much care for making sure I was completely satisfied, I figured it must have been his place. To get such a high level of service from an employee is almost unheard of now days. Anyways, learned a lot about Canada being different. Walmart closes at 9pm, so beware! We went out to dinner in town after checking in, proceeded to get some groceries and such at Walmart and much to our suprise, closed! Here in the states, open 24/7. Went the next morning to Walmart and Real Canadian Supermarket. When we returned back to the campground, took a look around the store at the campground store while purchasing firewood. I was again blown away! The campground store was sellimg things for the same price or less than I paid at the supermarket and Walmart! Almost every campground I?ve ever been to has 50-100% mark-up on anything they sell. I was really shocked and proud to see such a commitment to service rather than profits. The site we were given was real nice. Plenty of space, trees, shade, grass, and even a concrete fire pit. It amazes me now days how many places are just a gravel parking lot. This place was super nice. Beach was a great experience as well. Water was definately cool, but a must have experience! It was actually hotter than normal when we were there, luckily, the store serves ice cream! Store also offered no fee American to Canadian cash exchange at the fair rate. Border crossing went well everytime-passport is the way to go. Niagara Falls is about 3.5hrs away. Real good experience, exspecially at night with the lights. Must see from Canadian side, view from NY would be a true disappointment having seen from CA, now. Detroit is rougly an hour away, The Henry Ford is a must see there. I would recommend this place to anyone! Will definately visit, again! P.S. buy your gas in the US, it?s the only commodity I noticed was quite a bit higher in CA than the US.
