Juicing Recipes While On The Road

01-26-2018

Some of the most popular New Year's resolutions include those dealing with losing weight, increasing energy, or improving overall health. Plus, many people tend to overindulge over the holidays, and including fresh juice in daily habits can reverse any damage done to the body from caloric, fatty holiday food and sugary beverages or alcohol. Not only do fresh juices quickly introduce a large quantity of a variety of vitamins and nutrients into your system, they boost energy and mood while reducing your risks of catching winter colds or flus. The following recipes are delicious, rich in healthy ingredients, and are easy to make in the limited space of your RV. Make sure to thoroughly wash all produce before juicing.

Beet Juice

Beetroot is great for boosting immunity to fight winter colds and flus. It's rich in the vitamins A, B6, and C, as well as folic acid, iron, magnesium, and potassium. This helps normal tissue growth, helps fight anemia and fatigue, reduces the risk of osteoporosis, heart attacks, and strokes. It also helps regulate blood sugar.

In a juicer, combine 1 beetroot, 2 carrots, 1 stalk of celery, and 1 apple to yield 1 serving.

Blueberry Juice

Most people realize that blueberries are a delicious and healthy addition into a healthy diet. With high levels of the vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as copper, iron, selenium, and zinc, they boost immunity, mood, and energy; prevent eye problems like cataracts and macular degeneration, heal damaged brain cells, and improve detoxification.

For 2 servings, juice 1-cup blueberries, 4 carrots, 2 Granny Smith apples, ½ large beetroot, ¼ pineapple, 1 piece of ginger.

Detox Juice

After the caloric and alcoholic over-load to the kidneys and liver that many people experience over the holidays, it's a good idea to do a quick detox at the beginning of the new year. The antioxidants provided from citrus fruit and ginger in this drink releases mucus and flushes out toxins. The high levels of vitamins A and C boosts metabolism and fights free radicals that can cause cancer.

For 2 servings, combine in a juicer 5 grapefruits, 2 limes, 1 lemon, ¼ pineapple, and a handful of ginger.

Green Juice

Green juices are the super-star of the world of juicing. With plenty of kale and spinach, they're full of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as calcium and iron. Therefore, they boost the immune system, help with digestion, and cleanse the body of and free radicals and toxins.

In a juicer, mix 1 large cucumber, 8 stalks of celery, a large handful of kale, a large handful of spinach, a handful of parsley, ¼ lemon, and 1-piece of ginger. This juice yields 2 servings.

Pear Juice

With plenty of natural sugar and vitamin B, this vitamin-packed juice provides energy and fuels your whole body. The vitamins A, C, and E along with Lutein fights aging by increasing collagen production resulting in younger-looking skin and stronger bones.

For one serving, juice one apple, 2 pears, and a handful of pitted cherries.

In Conclusion

Although good health is always a worthwhile pursuit, during the cold and flu season, it's even more important. Additionally, these five juices increase energy and boost moods, both of which tend to lag due to the darker days of winter. Check out a variety of juicers or blenders to determine which is right for your RVing juicing needs. Bottoms Up!
