5 Top IKEA Products for Motorhomes

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an RV that didn’t come complete with furniture. Unfortunately, this furniture is not always the most comfortable or functional, and after a while, many items do have a tendency to break. This sends many RVers out looking for the best furniture replacements for their motorhome or travel trailer.
Now, I am certain that there are many great furniture pieces out there. However, my husband and I chose to outfit our trailer with furniture from IKEA. Our reasoning for this is that the furniture is inexpensive, yet comfortable and durable. It is also incredibly functional with plenty of hidden storage and fold out options.
During our search for the perfect IKEA furniture for our rig, we came across a number of awesome tables, chairs, and sofas that would work quite nicely in an RV. Here are the top 5 items we came across.
Ekedalen Extendable Table - This is the table we ended up with. It slides into a tiny 27.5” X 31.5”, but can be pulled out into a nice sized, 27.5” X 47.5” rectangular table that seats four. We love that it is lightweight, low profile, and can be pushed out of the way while still making room for stools to be stored underneath.
Norden Gateleg Table - This was our second pick for a table. It folds down into and even smaller 10” across. However, it was a tiny bit too wide for our space. This table is great because it also includes a few storage drawers on the front, meaning you can hide things away right inside your table.
Frosta Stackable Stools - These lightweight, stackable stools are an amazing seating option for anyone who is working with limited space. They look good with almost any decor, and can be covered with stool covers also from IKEA. This seating is so easy to hide away that getting a few extra for company is no problem.
Bosnas Ottoman - Another great company seating option is the Bosnas Ottoman. This little box offers a small amount of storage, and can be used as a foot rest, and extra seat, or a coffee table. Because of its versatility, it works very nicely in the tiny space of an RV living room.
Vallentuna Modular Couch - I absolutely adore this couch. It comes in pieces, so you can pick and choose which parts are included in your sofa. The options include a storage seat, a seat that folds out into a bed, and of course, a regular seat. There are backs and armrests of various sizes, and plenty of color options too. You use these options to assemble the ideal seating for your space.
