I am a bit of a Groupon junkie. I love to window shop but from time to time I do make purchases. Usually it’s just special photo processing or something like that so I can use some of my photography to make gifts. Occasionally, I find something really special and I will pick it up, but for the most part I am a looker. What many people don’t realize is that while there are many local products on Groupon, there are also quite a few that are national and will be shipped to you.

I have found some pretty cool camping gadgets, though. This list is sort of my “when I grow up and get a rock star RV” type of list. We already have the things that we need in our current rig. These things would be little luxuries – although there are a couple we may splurge on at some time to enhance your camping experience. Maybe some of them will work for you.

A word of caution. Check user reviews before making the purchase. For instance, I was intrigued by the inflatable loungers that are currently being sold by several companies. After a good deal of research, I have found that most people aren’t real happy with them. So check for those reviews – ideally on a few different sites.

Use the search feature. Type in what you are looking for, or just search for camping. The linked term for each section is the term I used in the search window. Use them in your own search for your own area. It’s tons of fun.

Survival – When I typed in this term I got such a wide variety of items! There were knives, sleeping bags, survival packs, and a bundle of survival books, plus a bunch of other things. The listings seemed to be endless – and very interesting.

Portable Hammocks – You can find these in a variety of styles and colors – even models that come with their own stands. I found one that folds up and fits in its own carrying case that you can sling over your shoulder.

Hiking – This term brought up backpacks, hydration packs, nifty lights, and walking sticks. That’s only skimming the surface though. There was page after page of things that would make a hiking trip better, but would also be great for camping in an RV.

Mosquito Repellants – Mosquitoes can make a campsite miserable, but thanks to Groupon you can find just about every mosquito repellent device known to man – all for a great deal. Find some great gadgets to get rid of mosquitoes and be a much happier camper.

RV – This was sort of my wildcard. When I plugged it in for my area (linked here) it came back with all sorts of nifty gadgets including a fan that plugs into your cigarette lighter, a two burner hot plate, and several deals for resorts. Do your own search and see what pops up.

Face it, RV gadgets are just plain fun. There are so many cool, innovative products on the market with new ones popping up every day. It’s fun to look at them – and even more fun to indulge in a few.
