White River NFCG/Aspen-Sopris

The Aspen and Sopris Ranger Districts are managed together out of one office in Carbondale, Colorado. Currently Visitor Services in Aspen are located at the base of Aspen Highland Ski Area, at 199 Prospector Road in Aspen. The outlet is located next to Four Mountain Sports at Highlands, where bus tickets for the Maroon Bells Shuttle are sold. The Forest Service provides limited services at the Highlands location, which includes free recreation guides, brochures, and general information of the area. No passes, permits, or maps are sold at this location. Contact the Aspen office at (970) 925-3445 for questions about the Aspen and Snowmass areas. The Sopris Ranger Station is located at 620 Main Street in Carbondale, Colorado. For inquiries about the Basalt, Carbondale and Marble areas, please call 970-963-2266. The Sopris Ranger Station is a full service office, where maps, passes, and local permits are sold.
