SPRINGER, Okla. - KTEN, covering the Texoma border area shared by Oklahoma and Texas, reports that the region will soon be home to an RV park and drive-in movie theater combination. The Cool Breeze RV Cinema and Resort is located just south of Springer, Oklahoma, on US 77, close to I-35, midway between Oklahoma City and Dallas-Fort Worth. The RV/camping portion of the park opened in May, with the movie theater scheduled to open on July 13. Tickets to the movie showings will be $4, and patrons don't have to be campers. According to the resort’s website, guests will be able to vote on the movies to be screened.
The co-owner of the campground in Oklahoma, David Horner, is a student at the University of Oklahoma and a local boy who grew up in the area, who sees this as an opportunity to give back to the community. KTEN quotes him as saying "Two simple things like an RV park and a drive-in, and it was like, 'Why not just put them together?’" The pet-friendly Oklahoma campground offers full hookups, free wifi, and monthly, weekly or daily rates.
