There are always stories that are forgotten or buried, especially in the night across long swaths of desert in West Mexico or New Mexico. One such story of nearly 60 years old is related of a dark night through Demming, New Mexico where a trucker, now RVer had an interesting vehicular encounter.
Bill Armendariz relates the story in his article: ""I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but here's my story," said Jerry Nash, 80, who [recently spent a night] in his RV in an empty lot on the 1300 block of West Pine St. Nash is familiar with the block. It haunts him like a re-occurring nightmare.
In 1956, Nash and his father rode a train to Chicago to pick up a brand new Diamond T semi-truck. 'I went into trucking produce from California to Oklahoma and I must have made at least a 100 trips through Deming,' Nash said."
