The Outdoor Dream Foundation, founded by Bard Jones in 2004, brings joy and adventure to kids and young adults with illnesses by making their outdoor dream come true. One member, Caleb Crisp, got the chance to enjoy fishing and hunting expeditions despite having cancer; all thanks to this foundation.
As Greenville News writer Liv Osby relates in her article: Another of the foundation’s recipients is Ford Sweeny, a 13-year-old Greenville boy who suffered a near-fatal case of mycoplasma pneumonia that attacked his brain, leaving him in a wheelchair unable to swallow. “It was an absolute dream. He loved every minute of it,” said his father, Ed Sweeny. “It was a blessing in the midst of great suffering and loss.”
