Cody Enterprise Reports On Verne Baker, An RV And Travel Enthusiast, Who Just Turned 100 Years Old
Verne Baker, a former RV and travel enthusiast, has recently turned 100 years old. In this article, he tells the story of his life throughout the years, and how he met and traveled with his wife. He has witnessed everything from women gaining the right to vote, Rosa parks and Dr. King taking a stand, Hitler invading Poland, to the election of the first black president.
As Cody Enterprise writer Cassandra Sturos relates in her article: After retiring, Verne and Joan shared their love of travel. They toured the U.S. for a few years in a 30-foot motorhome.“For the two of us it was just the right size,” Verne said. After the motorhome became a bit much, they switched out the motor home for a large Buick. “I bought a big car, the biggest one I could find, with a big V8,” he said. “I could enjoy myself just riding down the highway. “
