The new Mt. Hood Territory Wine Trail offers wine lovers discounts at 16 wineries from the Willamette Valley to the base of Mt. Hood. Wineries along the trail include longtime favorites, such as St. Josef's Winery celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, as well as newcomers to the Oregon winemaking scene including Tumwater Vineyard and Campbell Lane Winery. Wines to be tasted along the trail include Pinot noir, an Oregon classic, as well as a wide variety of other reds and whites including Pinot gris, Chardonnay and Riesling, plus a number of rare varietals.
A free mobile passport offers great discounts and directions to the 16 wineries. Participants who visit eight locations can pick up a Mt. Hood Territory Wine Trail stainless steel wine glass at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive & Visitor Information Center in Oregon City. “We hope the Wine Trail makes it easy for guests to discover new locations, taste delicious wines they might not have known about and inspire more gatherings with friends,” Annie Austin, Mt. Hood Territory public relations manager, said in a press release. The region also offers a free mobile Tap Guide to 14 area breweries. Sign up for either free passport through the Mt. Hood Territory website.
