Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all events, activities, special event reservations, pavilion rentals and camping reservations at Florida State Parks are canceled for the next 60 days. Existing overnight camping reservations that start Wednesday, March 18 will still be honored. Visitors must arrive before 5 p.m. on Wednesday to secure their reservation. After Wednesday, all reservations are canceled and will be refunded. WFTS Digital Staff at ABC Action News, cover in their article, "The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced the cancellations and a change to visitation hours on Tuesday. According to a press release, at this time parks will stay open for day use, but visitor hours are changed to 8 a.m. - 5 p.m." Beginning Friday, campgrounds and overnight accommodations will be fully closed. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will also be closing the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Guana Tolomato Matanzas (GTM) National Estuarine Research Reserve.To read more on the closures, click here.
