Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures campsite, Camp Serenity, in upstate NY is completely free for any veteran, wounded warrior, and their families. Guests stay for free and volunteers take them hunting, fishing, hiking, or boating, all for free. Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures President Robert J. Giordano says the group owns 68.8 acres. Since his retirement in 2008, it has always been his dream to provide a rustic retreat for Wounded Warriors, veterans and their families.According to the New York Upstate article, Robert has been operating Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures since 2008 as a 501(c)(3) that uses hunting, fishing and trips to the woods and waters as a therapeutic release for wounded warriors, veterans and their families. This organization has no affiliation with the Wounded Warrior Project, and is a 100 percent volunteer organization. Camp Serenity has three cabins currently but volunteers continue to help build the cabins.
