NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Proposed changes could be coming to North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock. A planned development District (PDD) was approved in 2006 by the city of North Myrtle Beach, allowing the owners of the 85 acres to build a high rise, a restaurant, several four-story multi-family dwellings, RV and pop-up camper sites, a water slide, a clubhouse and a dog park. Now, one of the two owners of the PDD is asking for a change to the original plan that was approved.
Casey Watson, staff writer for WMBF News, relays in her article: "The city of North Myrtle Beach is being asked by Myrtle Beach Power Sports Inc. to annex almost 12 acres of land along Old Crane Road and approve an amendment increasing the number of RV camper spots from the 107 existing spots to 214 in the new acreage." The construction would reduce the campsite width from 45 feet to 40 feet. The requested change to the PDD for the additional RV spots has been sent to city council with a recommendation for approval.
The items discussed could be on the city council’s agenda as early as Nov. 4 for a public hearing and first reading.
