Travel + Leisure Reports On The Rise Of Group Travel Companies Specifically For Women To Get Together And Cultivate Sisterhood
More and more women are beginning to book adventure travel vacations. Not just with their spouses or families, but with other women who want the same kind of excitement. There has always been a delicate aspect of women traveling alone. Now, several women-only adventure companies are springing up to bring women together on a next destination favorite.
Travel + Leisure writer Lila Battis relates in her article: "Despite the wide range of experiences offered by these companies, all tend to attract travelers who, whatever their age or background, have reached a turning point in their lives." As an example, Danielle Thornton and Allison Fleece quit their jobs to begin Women High on Adventure after they realized how traveling should really feel like on a journey to Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Outfitters are now catering to a generation of female travelers who prefer surf weekends and mountain-climbing expeditions to a spa weekend.
