News Blip: Lack Of Vacationing In Today's Workforce
PR Newswire Reports On Annual Study That Shows Millennials Are The Most Vacation Deprived Age Group Of Working Adults Across 30 Countries
A worldwide survey of working adults across 30 countries called Vacation Deprivation® report, Expedia's annual study that looks at the vacation habits, revealed that Americans are struggling to use their vacation time. Millennials are the most vacation deprived age group (62 percent) and receive the least vacation time. This is not too surprising since this group has not reached retirement age as of yet. However, a vacation-work balance is vital for reducing stress and staying more productive and keeping a positive attitude when returning to work (See article below for stats).
PR Newswire relays in its article: "[Millennials] are also the most likely to shorten their trips due to impending workload (53 percent) compared to their older counterparts. It's not just the millennials who are struggling to achieve work-life balance." Around 50% of workers in the U.S. report feeling 'somewhat' to 'very' vacation deprived, and in 2017, will not use approximately 462 million vacation days! According to Expedia, the primary reason cited for not taking time off are budget. A smart and viable solution to this impedance can be owning and/or renting a recreational vehicle. May it be for the RV life, van life or trailer life, this accommodation allows for simple travel and lower lodging and transportation costs. Millions of RVers enjoy their lifestyle using a motorhome or travel vehicle every year for vacationing.
