The Hershey RV Show, which bills itself as America’s Largest RV Show, ended its 51st run on an upbeat note with attending manufacturers and dealers reporting increases in both interest and sales over last year’s show. The show at attracted 45 manufacturers, including many new exhibitors, and occupied over 1 million square feet, an increase of 8,202 square feet over 2018’s 50th anniversary show. Sprinter representatives reported that the brand sold 69 Sprinter fifth wheels and travel trailers, double the number sold at last year’s show. Other manufacturers, including Thor, Newmar, Jayco and Keystone also reported strong sales, as did many dealers, an encouraging sign for the RV industry’s year ahead.
About 55,000 people attended this year’s show in Hershey’s Giant Center, down a bit from the record 2017 crowd of 64,154, but officials of the Pennsylvania Recreational Vehicle and Campground Association’s (PRVCA), which runs the show, told industry news sources they were satisfied with this year’s turnout. The show was open to consumers Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 11-15, preceded by two industry-only days on Monday and Tuesday. The educational seminars offered as part of the show were near capacity and the industry appreciation dinner on Tuesday hosted a sell-out crowd of 225.
The 2020 show is scheduled for Sept. 16-20. Find out more on the Hershey RV Show website.
