Calgary Fire Department Extends Contract With Spartan Motors

CHARLOTTE, Mich. - Calgary Fire Department, in Alberta, Canada, has purchased five new Spartan pumpers from Spartan Emergency Response, a business unit of Spartan Motors, Inc., as part of an expanding long-term contract. "Spartan continues to deliver the safest vehicles to our department, so we can concentrate on the job at hand – responding to the call," said Steve Dongworth, Fire Chief, Calgary Fire Department.
According to the press release by Spartan Motors company, "Spartan pumpers are coupled with industry-leading Spartan Advanced Protection System® (APS), which includes, Spartan 360® camera, side-impact airbag protection, driver-side knee airbags, outboard sensors, and innovative seatbelt systems, making them one of the safest cab and chassis in the industry." This addition of five Spartan pumpers brings Calgary Fire Department's total Spartan count to 107 units, a fleet comprised of 39 Spartan pumpers, 10 Smeal Aerials, and another 63 complete apparatus built on Spartan's industry-leading cab and chassis.
