OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) revealed the winners of its annual parks awards at the recent 2018 Outdoor Hospitality Conference and Expo. ARVC member parks or campgrounds that go the “extra mile” for their guests and the industry are recognized in four categories: Small, Medium, Large and Mega.
The family owned Anvil Campground just outside historic Williamsburg, VA, received the Small Park of the Year award in recognition of its 64 years of excellence. Another Virginia park, Tall Pines Harbor Campground, in Temperanceville, VA, was named Medium Park of the Year. Tucson, Arizona’s two Rincon Country RV Resorts won both of the awards for larger parks, the first time in the 40-year history of ARVC that the large and mega park honors were given to the same owner. The 460-site Rincon Country RV Resort East received the Large Park of the Year award, while the 1,100-site Rincon Country West RV Resort was named Mega Park of the Year. George O’Leary, 86, built the two Rincon Country resorts in the 1970s and 80s.
